Inflatable SUP Board Repair in South Florida
Inflatable paddle boards are an incredibly popular water craft, allowing for both easy storage and transportation, as well as the ability to explore a variety of waterways. But, with use comes the potential for damage. To ensure your inflatable paddle board is ready for the water each time, it is important to regularly inspect, maintain, and repair your board as necessary.
Inspection
The first step to keeping your inflatable paddle board in top shape is to inspect it regularly. Look for signs of wear, such as cuts, tears, or holes in the material. Inspect the seams and valve areas for any signs of leaks or damage. Maintenance In addition to inspection, it is important to maintain your inflatable paddle board to ensure it continues to perform optimally. Rinse the board with fresh water after each use to prevent dirt and debris from building up. If your board is exposed to salt water, be sure to thoroughly rinse it to prevent corrosion or other damage. Also, inspect the valve and seams regularly to ensure they are in top condition.
Repair a hole
It is important to repair it as soon as possible. The most common type of repair is patching a simple hole. This is pretty straight forward if the hole is not by a seam or other obstruction.  Start by cleaning the area that needs to be patched. This will ensure the adhesive will stick properly. Then cut the patch slightly larger than the hole or tear that needs to be repaired. Apply the adhesive to both the patch and the board and then press the patch firmly onto the board. Allow the patch to dry for at least 24 hours before using the board.Â
Blown Seam Repair
This is a much harder area to repair, since most of the time the seam is hard to access. We have had some special techniques we have developed and have had success fixing blown seams and valves.Â
Inflatable SUP Board Storage
1. Before storing the inflatable SUP board, it is important to make sure it is completely dry and clean.
2. DO NOT STORE YOU BOARD IN DIRECT SUN FULLY INFLATED. This will cause a rupture and probably blow out a seam
