Simon Anderson

Simon Anderson grew up on the  Beaches of Sydney Australia where surfing was going through a dramatic design revolution and every 6 months there was a new leap forward in board design. He began his shaping career at 17 yrs old after winning the '71 Australian Junior Title at Bells Beach.

In 1981 he developed the first three fin surfboard and won three World Tour contests on his new innovation "the Thruster". This sets the standard for the next 25 years. Kelly Slater won many of the 2005 WCT contests riding Simon's Boards.

Simon Anderson Surfboard XFC TSR Rocker
The fastest board in the Simon range. A high performance all rounder that’s adaptable to all surfers and all conditions. Featuring low soft rails and a single to double concave for deep carving turns. Ride it with any combination of tails. The 2009 XFC model retains the TSR Rocker, a little flatter in the belly section compared to the previous rocker, with the same overall tail and nose lift. The XFC remains our flagship all round small wave performance board.
Simon Anderson SXE2 Surfboard
The SXE2 is Simons most popular model amongst WCT and WQS surfers. A performance board designed to get the most out of a wave. The curvier rocker through the middle combined with deep single concave makes this board extremely fast and manoeuvrable. Although similar to the XFC, the SXE2 surfs that little bit tighter and vertical. Ride it with a round-pin tail for quality waves.
 Simion Anderson Interceptor Surfboard
The interceptor is one of Simons most popular boards due to its small wave performance. Extra width and a deep single concave helps this board to carry over dead sections, whilst still fitting securely in the pocket. Best if ridden 1-2 shorter and ¼ to ½” wider than your normal board.
 Simion Anderson IP Surfboard
The IP is basically an Interceptor but with a swallow tail and deeper single concave with a little vee out the tail. You surf this board 2” shorter than your regular performance thruster and ¼ - ½” wider with the same to a 1/16” thicker. The swallow gives the board a little more bite and hold on the face. This model will surf in slightly bigger surf than you would expect the interceptor to. In other words 1- 6’ beach breaks
 Simion Anderson BX2 Surfboard
Developed in association with Jay ‘Bottle’ Thompson. The BX2 is a slight variation on the XFC rocker. A little flatter with a dramatic tail flip. The deck is a little more veed with a slight boxy feel to the rail. Thickness distribution is pulled back a little, thinner nose and thicker through the back half of the board again to assist with release when you want it at the end of the turn arc. A high performance board with great speed, with the ability to break the fins out when needed.
 Simion Anderson Summer Mollusc Surfboard
We are doing a lot of work on these boards. For the moment this is a Mollusc on steroids. Wider plan shape, nose and tail. With a Single to Vee/Concave. A Swallow Tail with a flattish nose entry and a little more volume in the rail. We are also working on summer Mollusc Robo’s with a few bottom concave variations.
